More Athabasca

Athabasca was fun. We even had a short, wicked little storm that left us some hail!


We had a big sand box by our camp site...



with this very cool digging machine.


Everyone tried it out. Some of us just tried out different hats. :)

More Ward Camping

The boys slept together....in sychronized fashion!!

We had so much fun camping out with our ward. We hope they do it again next year.

And next year I'll leave my sewing projects at home! I was trying to finish a baby quilt in time for the shower. I know, I come by it honestly!


Every time we went to the bathroom Little Dude wanted to use the phone. He'd say, "Hello? Hello?? No one there."

You could rent these cool peddle bikes....this one had space for 4 people.

Then there was this old fashioned swing that cost 25 cents/ride.

Clive Days happened a couple of saturdays ago. They had a parade, and then a bit of a festival at the ball diamonds. There was a fair ride, bouncy castle, mini golf, hot dogs, and a baseball game. Oh, and a hay ride that we ended up missing because, frankly, it had been an amazingly long day and we decided to go home and have a nap! We left the house at 9 for the parade and parked ourselves in front of the Clive Store. Here are Little Dude and Munchkin waiting for things to start...The orange thing around Little Dude's neck is a whistle...he loves his whistle...I love his whistle outside, I'm not too fond of it inside. Funny how much difference a simple change in location can make!




There were a few horses in the parade. The girl on the horse in the pink t-shirt is a friend of Little Dude's. Her sister's all have horses, and they let her ride one of them in the parade.



Of course there were police and fire engines. Little Dude was sure the police were coming to get him!



There were a fair number of floats. They threw out candy. You know after trying to teach Little Dude not to run out onto the road, it seemed ironic that I was now shouting, "Go get the candy! Go on the road!"



We also went camping in Athabasca from June 22 to 26th. Big E had a week long schedule of biology labs to complete for a correspondence course he's completing (one of 4...statistics, biology, and chemistry). So we decided to take the whole family up north for a week of camping, we even stole a neighbour girl to bring with us! Thanks for JennyB! She made the trip much easier, an extra pair of hands came in handy many a time! :)




This is what the boys looked like by 10 am. :) Camping sure takes lots of energy!
