Saturday is a special day...

Welcome back! The following video is rated PG 13 due to some nudity!!

Well, it seems like once I start posting videos...I just can't stop. Ok, that AND the fact that I finally pulled out my battery charger and the camera now has power! :) Nobody's perfect, least of all me...ok, ESPECIALLY me! Thank goodness I have people who love me anyway. And it is for some of you (who love me anyway) that I take these videos to post...so it's all one eternal round. This is our Saturday night bath...getting ready for Sunday.

And here is what Munchkin and Little Dude looked like Sunday morning. I meant to get a picture of Big E and I, but in our rush out the door in order to be on time for church I had to forget about our picture. Really, you've got the 2 best looking members of our family anyway, so I have no fear of anyone reaching for the kleenex.

Later today we were brushing teeth. Little Dude thinks brushing teeth is so great that we used that as his treat when we were potty training. "You went pee!! Now you get to brush your teeth YAHOO!" Believe it or not, it worked. Thank goodness, because having candy treats as rewards wasn't working so well...I ATE THEM! Munchkin likes to do everything he see his big brother do. He's not sure what the charm is in brushing teeth, but he's willing to give it a go.

Just a note of interest...it is currently -29. I have no idea what it feels like with the wind chill..frankly I estimate about -50. It's days like these that leave me dreaming of living somewhere like Australia...Hawaii...United Arab Emerites...somewhere with some honest to goodness HEAT!

Jumping, jumping, jumping

Little Dude's favourite activity these days seems to be jumping...and so he jumps everywhere!

Munchkin has been starting to walk for awhile now. Before last Sunday he would take about 4 steps before falling down. On Sunday he took about 13 steps in a row and hasn't looked back since.

Little Dude has become fascinated with everyone's names. He likes to look at pictures and label those he knows! They are growing fast and enjoying each other....and Big E and I are enjoying watching them!

Sun and Snow

The past little while has seen lovely weather out here...sunny and warm but still with snow on the ground and we took advantage of the sun and headed to a place called Cranna Lake. They have picnic tables, a sledding hill and the lake has been cleared for skating...in fact it has a long skating route as well as two rinks. We took lots of pictures so bear with us!

We started out with a picnic...yummy rice krispie squares!

Here is the view from the sledding hill...you can see the ice that has been cleared at the bottom.

So we flew down the hill and had a blast! Munchkin slept through this part of the fun.

Little Dude went down in a sled twice. When he got to the bottom I asked if he was having fun and he replied, "No. No like it." And so he spent the rest of the time at the top of the hill making snow balls to throw. :)

Then it was time to go and Little Dude thought he'd help out by pulling Munchkin. Surprisingly he could pull him without much trouble! Little Dude is doing really well with the potty training and Munchkin took 13 steps in a row on Sunday without holding onto anything. He will shortly be able to walk all on his own and get into even MORE stuff. Keeps me on my toes, and life interesting.

Our biggest news

Grandma sent candy for a gingerbread house...most of it made it onto the house, though we did have to taste as we went along. Little Dude thought this was a great activity! :)

Here is the beginning of the end.

Well, the big story right now in the Zea family is that Little Dude is nearly out of diapers! He is doing so well with using the potty, it's truly heartening. We're still working on getting him to sleep in his own bed, but that's coming too. Mostly we're crazy about the drop in our diaper budget. :) The most difficult part of the potty training seemed to be convincing Little Dude that he was supposed to poop in the potty as well as pee. We had a couple of poop incidents elsewhere before he got the idea.

Here is a before and after shot of his bedroom after he decorated his walls.

Big E gave me a hair cut and I'm enjoying it. Here's how I look...and here is a shot of the hair-carnage. Little Dude was a bit unsure what was going on, Munchkin just wanted to play with the hair! Speaking of hair, Munchkin's hair is definately curly. Right now his uncle D has nicknamed him 'Mowhawk' which we think is pretty cute. His hair is like a mowhawk with curls along the top in the middle and very little (yet) on the sides. Munchkin is enjoying whole foods, especially banana.

Little Dude has gone skating with me a couple of times and is starting to enjoy it rather than just putting up with it for his mother's sake. The outdoor rink here is quite nice and we will be taking advantage of it in the coming weeks. (When it's warm....when it is -20 we stay inside!) This evening it is only a balmy -2 and we are looking forward to above 0 in the next week.

A couple of pictures...and a video of Munchkin.

We have learned that Big E's brother will be doing a tour in Afganistan sometime this year. We don't know when and nothing with the army is written in stone except that one rule...that nothing is written in stone. :) We hope he won't be gone for too long and that he'll return safe and sound.
